OUR TEAM Bob Shiley began his recruiting career with Brethet, Barnum & Associates in 1990. Prior to joining Brethet, Barnum, Bob was an agent for Landmark Medical, selling orthopedic products, and previously worked with Baxter and National Rubber. As a recruiter, Bob's focus has been in Sales and Marketing, but he has also worked on Finance, Market Access, Clinical Research, and Regulatory Affairs assignments, all within the healthcare arena. In recent years, he has helped a number of biotechnology companies get established in the Canadian market. In 1997 Bob became a CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant) and CIPC (Certified International Personnel Consultant). He is a member of CHLA (Canadian Healthcare Licensing Association), OPMA (Ontario Pharmaceutical Marketing Association), PMCQ (Pharmaceutical Marketing Club of Quebec), and TBI (Toronto Biotechnology Initiative). Bob has an Honours BA in Sociology from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Bob believes in the adage "it's who we know", and over the span of 14 years as a recruiter, has made a point of introducing himself, and getting to know and assist literally thousands of people in the industry. bob@brethetbarnum.com Phyllis Chrzan has been recruiting in the Health Care Industry since 1978, and has been with Brethet, Barnum and Associates since 1981. She previously worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Phyllis has always maintained her focus within the medical arena in sales and marketing, and business development. Phyllis believes in a strong partnership relationship with her clients and candidates, and has maintained many of these relationships for over 20 years. Phyllis has a tremendous knowledge of the industry and the people within it. She has watched people develop and "grow up" in the industry. She has placed literally hundreds of people, and has countless success stories. She next worked in the financial industry for several years, before returning to Brethet, Barnum in 1991 as President. Anne strongly believes in the value of "the team", and has fostered this atmosphere at Brethet, Barnum. Each person on the team brings different skills and strengths to the process, creating a more productive and efficient effort. Anne has had the same group working together since her return in 1991. Anne brings strong assessment skills, having written a paper on the use of situational interviewing techniques in the recruiting industry. Anne is focused in Healthcare Sales and Marketing. She has had many success stories including recruiting for a company's new therapeutic division and a biotech company's sales team. Anne has her professional designation of CPC (Certified Personal Consultant), as well as an MBA from the University of Toronto.
